Review for Chesapeake's Seafood and Raw Bar

What's good my good people? Here is this week's review and I hope you enjoy it. Would like you to share this with your people and check out this spot!!

So this review is really going to focus on catering.  We have all been to events and had some suspect food. (Be honest, you have food that was catered and you know you could do way better at home.) But today was not the case. Today was especially good and I know I will be back for my own personal visit.

The reason for reviewing this spot is because I was there for a special event.  We celebrated my Aunt Lynda for her 60 birthday and this was a special event and time.

So let's get into this food. The food was exceptional.  The food was served buffet style but this wasn't your every day buffet.
I posted picks of what was served but I know it didn't do justice.

On the menu was spinach and cheese with  an amazing crispy crust.  Next, we have potatoes, Au gratin style, different and may not be for most. Then we were hit with a vegetable medley consisting of zucchini, squash, carrots and onions.  We round out the menu with a chicken and rice combo that was a pleasant surprise.  And then we end with the boss of the bunch,  salmon on a bed of spinach. (Fancy)

My favorite out of the menu was the salmon and vegetable medley.  Both were cooked correctly and satisfying.  The chicken and rice combo was good and did not disappoint.  But if you are a fan of seafood,  you would jump for it first. The spinach was a side that was different from what you usually would go to but it was a good dish. The potato dish was my least favorite and the only reason is because I think it could have used a little more seasoning. (My opinion so it may work for you. )

The team that waited on us was exceptional as well. They made sure that our party was taken care of and were very cordial throughout the day.

Besides the food, the experience was excellent.  I will be back to have more of a personal experience and recommend you take a visit too.

This place has been around for awhile but is a staple in the town. If you are a fan of seafood,  you will thoroughly enjoy it. It is a very modern restaurant and would be an excellent place for meetings or gathering with coworkers after a long day.

I left the place on fatboy swole for sure. A couple plates and a box to go and I was extremely satisfied.  I will not put a tee on this until I go back for myself.

If you are feeling fancy and want to treat yourself,  this place will not disappoint.

Review for Blackhorse Brewery

What's happening good people and thank you for taking the time to read my blog. The purpose of my blog is to highlight the booming restaurant culture that is happening in my hometown of Knoxville,  Tennessee.  My city has a new culture of independent restaurateurs and breweries that are making a big impact on our city and bringing a variety of different taste and influences from around the world. My goal is to highlight at least one of these great additions weekly and hope you join me. Today's restaurant is the Blackhorse Brewery in Downtown Knoxville.

The Blackhorse Brewery has been around for a few years now and I am just getting around to trying it. (I know. Slacking on my part.) It's a place that I have heard great things about and well today was my day.

When you enter the restaurant you are greeted by the hostess and taken to your seat. The hostess are very friendly and accommodate the customer to the seat they like. There wasn't a wait so my party got seated pretty quickly .

Once at our table, I was waiting for the rest of my peeps and our waitress, Stephanie, saw that. She made it a point to introduce herself and check in as the rest of the crew showed up. (Starting the experience on the right foot.) Stephanie was very cordial and took care of us very well. ( She gets extra props for being able to joke around with is and be human while doing her job.)

Now to the good stuff!!! The menu at Blackhorse is a simple menu that everyone will find something they like. The choices range from burgers, chicken, salads etc. Also since it was Sunday, they had a brunch menu that runs from 11am-2pm. With that being said, I played it safe and went with an entree I know I would like to make sure the food was on point. My motto is that if the can do what you like good, you won't be afraid to try new things the next time around.

This visit, I went with the chicken and waffles, with a side of roasted potatoes.  The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The food was hot and ready to be devoured.  The waffle was so good.  It was a Belgian-styled waffle, so it was thick and had great flavor. They gave you enough butter to make sure all the pockets got a little blessing. And the syrup was a nice compliment to the waffle. It was just the right consistency.

I was a little disappointed by the chicken for the simple fact I was looking for chicken on the bone. (I still ate the chicken though. )  The breading on the chicken was good. Whoever cooked it put the right amount of seasoning in the breading.

Finally,  the roasted potatoes were a pleasant surprise.  With them being roasted, if not done right, it can ruin a meal. But these potatoes were delicious and will not disappoint.

All in all, the Blackhorse Brewery is a place a will return to in a heartbeat. The food was great and the service was A1. The atmosphere is one that you can meet the fellas for a game or bring the family to have a meal before exploring Downtown Knoxville.

I am giving Blackhorse Brewery a 4X Tee. Your ask why 4X Tee? Considering my blog is called Fatboy Problems, after this great meal, I needed a 4X Tee to be comfortable. (Don't judge me.)

So, if you are every in the Knoxville area and are looking for a great place to have a great meal and enjoy a great atmosphere,  take it on down to the Blackhorse Brewery and treat yourself.
